Carmen Ricciardi owner and Gelatician of Carmen's Gelato began his culinary career at the age of 14, his passion for food and culture brought him to The Italian Culinary Institute in Calabria Italy to study regional Italian cuisine. At the ICI, Carmen trained under the best Chefs, Bakers, Gelaticians, And Patissiers in Italy.
Carmen's love for Italy and quality brought him back to the ICI two more times, where he met James Coleridge; winner of the 2012 Florence Italy Gelato Festival, and owner/Gelatician of Bella Gelateria in Vancouver B.C. Studying under Maestro James, Carmen developed a repertoire of seasonal flavors to bring to his home state of Alaska.
Using Fresh organic fruit, milk, and sugars, Carmen hand crafts seasonal Artisan Gelato from scratch, without the use of artificial flavoring, syrups, pastes, bases, or mixes, and is the first in Alaska to do so. Carmen brings his passion, culture, and quality to Alaska and people from all over the world, and ensures that everyone leaves with a smile.
